Pink cupcakes & pink chairs!

After eating cupcakes by the lake (sustenance for thrifting/antiquing) I was über delighted to find a fabulous find for my patio...


An awesome repainted pink & white vintage metal chair! Isn't it cute?!


I also found a patio table on sale so now my patio redo can commence! Time to get rid of the old rickety picnic table & bench which I never sit at, & replace it with my new table & chair! I am envisioning a cute oilcloth table cloth, like this one on Dottie Angel's patio...


I promise to share pics as it develops! I simply can't wait!

A Flea Market Adventure

Last Sunday we took a little road trip to a flea market in Elkhorn, WI & had a blast! The market is huge & a great place to find any & all things vintage. Here are some pics I snapped...








My favorite find that simply had to come home with me was this wonderful little children's pink cabinet. Check it out...



It's got lots of wonderful details, like adorable decals & pretty drawer pulls...





It's now serving as a sewing cupboard near my sewing machines, holding everything I use most often!






And a perfect place to display my collection of vintage planters!

Rainy Day Vintage Finds

Yesterday was too rainy here in Madison to set up my art booth at our local farmers market, so instead we ventured to an estate sale where I found some lovely vintage goodies!


This lovely corsage enchanted me! I simply couldn't pass it by. Perhaps on some special occasion I will wear it, but for now it will sit in a place where I can see it & be inspired by its vintage beauty!


A small bundle of vintage gingham fabric, perfect for adding ruffles to skirts & other sewn goodies! I love the bigger size checks!


A wonderful little box of vintage greeting cards, perfect for my collage creations!


Not only do I love the cards inside the box, but the box itself is simply lovely!


The cards range from get well cards to happy birthday and everything in between.


I also got a wonderful vintage cupboard which will be great for storing art supplies! We are picking it up later today so I promise to take some pics and share with you once I get it home! Did you find any vintage goodies this weekend? I would love to hear all about it!

A big old stash of vintage sewing finds!

One of my recent estate sale adventures landed this huge box of vintage sewing goodies! It was so big my friend Jenny & I split it & I still got all these goodies!


True eye candy for the crafter in me! Aren't those old wooden spools lovely?!




A ton of vintage seam binding, which I love to use as ribbon for all sorts of projects!



I loved the graphics & designs on these vintage tags, brochures, & packaging! I was thinking of using them as art tags!

Vintage Sewing Finds!

I love finding vintage crafting supplies! I especially get excited for vintage sewing items! That is why when I found this pretty sewing themed embroidery piece at the thrift store the other day, I did a little happy dance in the aisle! Isn't it lovely...





Other good finds included some vintage spanish flash cards...

...some lovely vintage fabric and lace...

...an old jewelry box perfect for collaging...

...vintage pipe cleaners in lovely pastel colors, a roll of vintage paper adorned in roses, and some pretty vintage christmas cards!

All in all a lovely trip to the thrift store!

Lovin' The Vintage Sheets!

Now everyone knows I love vintage sheets and other linens, but I thought I would share this picture of my little dog Lulu also loving the vintage! Clearly I have taught her well!

Vintage Deer Collection

I am always on the lookout for cute little vintage deer. Over the years I have acquired a nice little collection, which I love to pull out for Christmas. They mostly decorate my mantle, but you can find them in other little spots around my home too! Check it out...

These deer were kind of ugly in their original form, so I painted them a pretty green with spray paint! Now I love them...



This little guy decorates a vintage metal tray from a children's set of dishes! So cute...

My Christmas Tree

Here are some pictures of my little happy tree this year! As you can see, I have a vintage pink and blue theme...


Every year I add to my collection of vintage blue and pink ornaments. I love them so much, I don't think I could pick a favorite!


Collecting vintage holiday ornaments can be pretty affordable too, as I usually don't spend more than $2 or $3.00 per each bulb (and that is for the nice big ones)! Smaller ones are commonly $1.00 each. Check your local antique stores, thrift stores, and estate sales, as vintage Christmas decor abounds!

An Artsy Fartsy Holiday Memory Book

During one of my thrift store jaunts I found a lovely vintage Christmas children's book, falling apart, and just begging for an artsy fix up! First I took the pages and made them into some pretty Christmas bunting (pictures coming soon). What I had left was the book cover and back and could not bear to throw them away...so I made a memory book and I think it turned out lovely! Check it out... Binding the book with silver binding rings, I decorated the front with some vintage anagram letters and a lovely glittered red star.

Within the book you will find a ton of new and vintage papers, including some lovely holiday style patterned papers, vintage Christmas cards, vintage ledger paper and so much more! Here I decorated a green paint sample card with some Holiday stamps. Cute huh?!

Other fun details include vintage style mini flash cards and vintage gummed labels.

This fun tree paper is actually from a vintage paper place mat. I just love the trees!

Sometimes I used glue, but other times I adhered the paper together by sewing with red thread, or using staples. I think it gives the book a little extra oomph and fun!

A few pages have pockets so you can fill them with special holiday memories, like photos, receipts, ticket stubs, etc.

The book is truly a one of kind creation and a perfect place to keep all your holiday memories! See it as my version of those Smash books that are so popular in the scrapbooking stores these days. My book is for sale in my Etsy shop, and will be available tomorrow at the last holiday show of the year, the Holiday Craftacular! I had so much fun making it that I can't wait to try my hand at different themes!

New Magnet Display...Old Meets New!

I recently made a new display piece for my Artsy Fartsy magnets to use in the booth during art fairs. It's made from both vintage and new items and I really like how it came out...


The original magnetic board started out as having some ugly paper on it, which I scraped off and replaced with some fun vintage contact paper adorned with this fabulous blue daisy motif! I love it!


Next I added the words by using vintage scrabble and plastic letters to the sides and bottoms!


All in all I really like how it turned out, and the fun vintage vibe you get from it. It's a wonderful new home for my magnets don't you think?!
