Love, New Art, and an Art Fair!

Can you believe it's almost Valentine's Day?! This year skip the oh so typical box of chocolates and flowers and give your loved one something totally unique like some original Artsy Fartsy creations! You can catch us this Sunday, Feb. 9th at the Valentine Craftacular!

This fabulous and funky art fair will be held at the Madison Masonic Center (downtown Madison WI) from 10 am to 4 pm and is sure to be great fun. This will be Artsy Fartsy's first art fair of 2014 and I have been working hard to dust off my winter cobwebs and make lots of new art! Check it out...

This last pic is a fun new piece I created using layered window screen material, wire, and paint! Cute huh?!

So come on down this Sunday and say hello, buy some art and spread the love!

Handmade Gifts

I love giving handmade gifts! When I take the time to give a gift that I have spent time, energy, and supplies on I am literally pouring my love for the person receiving the gift into the creation. Here are the gifts I made for many of my loved ones this Christmas...
Lovely little handmade envelope clutches! The sewing pattern comes from Michelle Patterns on Etsy and was easy to follow! She has tons of other great patterns to purchase so be sure to visit her Etsy store soon! Did you make something fabulous for your loved ones this year? I would love to hear all about it!

Christmas Recap

Oh my - it's been almost 1 month since I last posted on my blog. I would apologize but the truth is after my last art fair on Dec. 1st I really needed a little break. And my day job and family life has been kind of busy since then. So now I'm back and ready to start the new year with lots of Artsy Fartsy goodness! But first I wanted to share with you some snapshots from the past month...
Lot of holiday decorating going on in my little apartment!
I love combining vintage goodies with some of my own artsy creations, along with new fun finds!

My tree is covered in my vintage collection of pink and turquoise Christmas bulbs and other fun finds likes these vintage honeycomb bells!
I found some time to get cozy in my art room and sew, all while watching old I Love Lucy Episodes! Can it get any better? I think not!
We definitely had a white Christmas here in Wisconsin! I love spotting little cute bird tracks in the snow on my patio!
Brown paper packages tied up with string. These are a few of my favorite things! I love making my own gift wrap using postal paper, paint, baker's twine, and some gift tags made from vintage Christmas cards!
I can't show you what I made my family for Christmas yet because some people still have to open their gifts, but soon I promise! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and I promise to start posting more blog posts now :-)
