I thought I would share with you a picture of my mantle in my living room! It captures my love of Halloween and I think it is quite fun! I didn't realize before this how much I like black cats too! The black cat holding the pumpkin on the left side is a fun vintage looking light and the black kitty on the right holds a candle behind it. At night, with the candle going and the lights turned low, it is a truly spooky look! I love it!
The flags are made from Halloween themed fabric I had (you can never have enough Halloween fabric!). I am particularly proud of this project because it was the first time I made my own bias tape and I think it came out quite good! I know you can't see it too well, but I made the bias tape from a fun white and black polka dot fabric. I also made some flags to decorate my art booth in the same style!
I also had some small orange and black bags left over from a past project, so I thought I would add some cute pumpkins and give them out to my cousins' kids and my friend's little boy! I think they would work well as trick or treat bags! I used Heat n Bond with the paper backing, which allowed me to draw out the pumpkins and then iron on the fabric to the bags. For extra strength, I then sewed the pumpkins on with black thread. I hope the kids like them!
adorable!!!! love all the halloweeny goodness!!
