Little Houses Skirt

I love little houses! I don't know what it is about them, but I love creating art that incorporates little houses. It might be the fact that I am such a homebody and I love the idea of having a sanctuary that is comfortable, happy, safe, and lovely! Everyone needs this in their life! So when I saw this fabric at Ikea with little houses, I knew I had to have it. So here is my skirt, filled with happy little houses...


And of course, I couldn't just make a plain skirt. I had to add some extra details! So using a pretty dusty purple fabric, I added pockets and a ruffle on the bottom!



I also thought it would be fun to outline some of the houses in different colors, using embroidery thread...



I like how it all turned out...and it is oh so comfy and cozy to wear!
