Yesterday my Mom and I decided to have fun and take a short road trip to this magical place called Monches Farm in Colgate, WI. Colgate is near Delafield, WI, which is in between Madison and Milwaukee. Once you get off the highway, you will find a beautiful maze of country roads and tree covered lanes near small lakes and charming towns! Monches Farm is a wonderful place I discovered a few years ago, that sells plants, as well as home and garden decor and it is a must for all to visit.
Stock full of beautiful statues, garden supplies, a small farm, beautiful old buildings, and lots of gardens, a person could be in heaven, simply wandering around the grounds all day, taking in the sights and scenes!Chickens and sheep call this place home and can often be found running around and posing for pictures!
The shopping is great too! Pots and garden art are creatively strewn about in a haphazard manner that seems to just make perfect sense!
The greenhouse is filled to the brim with wonderful garden goodies, while beautiful white doves, finches, and hens lounge about in beautiful Victorian style bird cages.
And in the end we came away with this sweet little frog for my mom's garden! Isn't she the best...I mean you can't go wrong with a frog sipping tea and wearing her best pearls!
After the visit to the farm, we drove slowly back towards Delafield and the highway back to Madison, enjoying the sites and views of the lake and Holy Hill! If you are interested in visiting Monches Farm, check out their website here! For only an hour drive from Madison, it's a great day trip for everyone!
