Well this weekend's art fair in Cedarburg was lovely, with lots of sales and friendly faces! We did have one little adventure where our muffler fell off our old truck, we call her Betsy, on our way to Cedarburg on Sunday morning. Betsy is our beat up old Chevy that we use to carry all of our art fair supplies to and from, like the big tent, tables, chairs, and my screen doors that I use for display. She is beat up and well loved, but alas, getting old. But have no fear, after much crawling around on the ground on the side of the road, we managed to tie the muffler back up enough to get to the art fair on time. Later, a nice AAA tow truck man tied it up better so we could safely head back to Madison, where our mechanic will put Betsy back together! And so begins "Adventures in Art Fairs 2011!"
Anyhoo...I premiered a new collage jewelry box at the art fair this weekend and I must say she is a cutie! Celebrating inner beauty, the quote on the box is from Audrey Hepburn, who was both lovely on the inside and out, and reads "happy girls are the prettiest!" Check it out...
The lovely ladies on the top of the box are from a vintage sewing pattern! I just love the images of those old pattern packets!
Many layers of paint, paper, and other adornments decorate all sides of the box, which started out as a plain vintage vintage jewelry box.
The inside of the vintage jewelry box is still in nice condition, with some lovely green velvet like fabric covering the inside so all of your jewelry and other treasures have a nice home!
The box is still for sale and will be available at our next market this Saturday in Madison, so be sure to stop by!
