Art Fair Weekend!

This weekend Artsy Fartsy will be at the Strawberry Fest Art Fair in Cedarburg, WI!

We have been working crazy hard to stock the booth with all kinds of fabulous new Artsy Fartsy goodies! I think we will be bursting from the seams with new original art, tote bags, pillows, posters, prints, greeting cards and so much more! Here is just a taste...

Look at all these new pillows! My sewing machine certainly got a work out!
And we made a new sign for inside the booth with my Great Grandma, The Queen! Isn't she fabulous!
Phew! Now that is a lot of art! Even Lulu is exhausted.
So if you are in the Cedarburg area, north of Milwaukee, come on by and say hello! It is sure to be a great weekend!

Fabric Dog Collars!

Hi all! My little dog Lulu really needed a new dog collar. The last one I made for her was several years ago and it was looking a little rough. Not to mention the fact that that she has gotten a little bit more chunky with age (similar to her owner) and the collar was fitting tight. So, instead of buying her an new collar at the store (have you ever noticed how expensive the nice ones are?!) I made a new one for her again, using some fun, bright fabric from my scrap bin, the parts from her old collar, and this free pattern by Michelle Patterns! It was super easy to follow. Check out the results below...
Sorry for the blurry pic on the right side...Lulu was not very interested in modeling! Those wiener dogs can be a temperamental lot!

For Dog Lovers Everywhere!

If you know me at all, you know I love dogs! and I especially love my dog, Lulu, a miniature wiener dog!

Isn't she cute! Here she is in one of her favorite places on Earth, in my laundry basket with fresh, warm, straight from the dryer clothes!

So in honor of all wonderful dogs out there, here is a brand new collage, preaching the glorious truth that "all you need is love...and a dog!"

It will debut tomorrow (weather permitting) at the Farmer's Market in Madison, so if you are around, be sure to stop on by and say hello!

Lesson Learned

I learned an important lesson today. If you feel like this...

...and you try to sew, your seams end up crooked & your sewing needles break.

On days like these I need to learn how to simply take a break, get some rest & not push myself. To say to myself that whatever I accomplish today is enough, no more no less. And simply be OK with that! Tomorrow is another day!

Lovin' The Vintage Sheets!

Now everyone knows I love vintage sheets and other linens, but I thought I would share this picture of my little dog Lulu also loving the vintage! Clearly I have taught her well!

Just Too Darn Cute!

This is my miniature wiener dog Lulu.

This is my miniature wiener dog Lulu in the sleeve of my sweater. I guess she was cold and felt that this was as good a place as any to snuggle up and get warm!
This uncontrollable amount of cuteness is why Lulu has me wrapped around her little paw! Any questions?

A Lovely Day

I had the day off today so I took my little dog Lulu and went exploring in the lovely spring weather. Our destination was a little island I had driven by earlier in the week, which you can access by driving down a narrow gravel driveway. It's called Governor's Island, and along with a free parking area, there are paths everywhere, winding through the woods and down to the shore, where you can catch wonderful views of the city of Madison! It was so lovely to be walking outside and spying the Spring plants beginning to sprout up. The birds were chirping and there was a lovely light breeze. As I wandered the paths near the shore, I suddenly began to spy wonderful little jewels of sea glass, tumbled smooth by the water and waves. I was so excited by this because I have a distinct memory as a little girl of collecting sea glass on a beach during a family vacation. I loved the soft colors and smooth tumbled feel of each piece, almost calling for someone to rub their fingers along them. Lulu and I were able to find a whole bag of beautiful glass and seashells, which we carefully brought back home with us! Check it out... I am going to look for a some kind of pretty jar to keep my new treasures in so I can always remember to take time to relax, explore, and find some sea glass!
Here are some more shots from my little adventure...
Little Lulu exploring the beach and being my helpful treasure hunting assistant! This was a big day for her as it was the first day out for a walk since her back injury earlier in the year. I am happy to report that she is doing great!
