Sometimes We All Need A Little Hug!

I sometimes get requests for sympathy cards, and I have always struggled with what kind of sympathy card I could create that fits with my art style. Well when I saw this guy, he just seemed to be wanting to give somebody a hug! So here is my take on sympathy with a dash of humor thrown in! I hope you like it!
The original collage is actually on a stiff vintage bingo card, and the dapper gentleman was found in an old clothing catalog! Layers of paint and paper later, this is what came out! The original will also be for sale soon.
And Halloween greeting cards are making there way to my Etsy shop! Start getting in the mood for this fabulous holiday by stopping by the shop soon!

Artsy Fartsy Ornaments

Our last 2 holiday art fairs have been lovely! Filled with lots of fun, good crafty friends, and lovely customers! We only have 2 more to go so be sure to stop by and say hello soon! Next Sunday we will be at the UW Arboretum Close to Home show in Madison. Then on Dec. 3rd, we will be at the Holiday Craftacular, also in Madison. Here is a little glimpse of what you will find in our booth...
I have been having a fun time creating unique holiday ornaments this year! Check it out...
These sweet little houses are made form a variety of vintage and new fabrics and trims. And of course, I had to add some polka dots, hand painted on!

Each house is unique and handmade and would look lovely as an ornament or as decor around the home!

Some of the houses are decorated in colors that can celebrate everyday, but others are perfect for Christmas!

I also tried my hand at felting a sweater for the first time! I found this really cute striped pink one at the thrift store and thought it would be adorable recycled into heart ornaments! I just posted one to my Etsy shop for sale so be sure to stop by soon! You can find a link to my Etsy shop on the left side of this blog!

So be sure to stop on by and check it out!

A Little Dose of Spring

I just listed some fun Spring tags on my Etsy shop and thought I would share them with you! I seemed to be drawn towards pastel colors right now...I think it is because it is so cold and snowy outside and we still have a few more months till it gets warm again. So I hope you enjoy this little dose of Spring...

The set includes 4 handmade, collage tags, each one a unique little spring time creation!

I used some nice polka dot card stock, and then added little bits of vintage ledger paper and pages from vintage children's books, all sewn on with a lovely light blue thread!

The tickets are pink and adorned with a cute little bird stamp!
Here are some closer pictures so you can see the details!

Tags are ready to hang with pink and white baker's twine.

And the back of each tags has images from vintage cookbooks, which were part of the polka dot card stock I used! I like to use double sided card stock whenever I am making tags so that the back and front are both pretty!

Hope these make you smile and think of Spring!

New Handmade Valentine Goodies on Etsy

One of my 2011 resolutions is to pay more attention to my Etsy store, even when I am busy with other art fairs and such, thus I thought I would show you what I added to the store today...

A fun trio of hearts, handmade from purple felt and valentine themed fabric, all sewn together to hang and twirl around in a window or doorway! And both sides are covered in fabric so they look sweet from both directions. Very cute if I do say so myself!

A lovely handmade Valentine, combining pink and blue fabrics, craft paper, felt, and these adorable little vintage style vocabulary flash cards I found by another Etsy artist.

To head on over to my Etsy shop, simply click here and have fun!

Winter Wonderland...Weekend Recap!

We didn't have a lot of snow before this weekend, only a few inches....but now check us out! The snow even led my friend Jennifer to get stranded here Saturday night after our art fair so I got to visit with her more and have a lovely dinner together! So, today I love the snow! I may have a different story in a few weeks, but for now...Yay snow!

My last art fair for the year was this past Saturday and it was fabulous! Lots of Artsy Fartsy goodies found new homes, and it was a terrific turn out despite the weather! What a great way to end the year! Here are some of the Artsy Fartsy products we sold...

Lots of cute little holiday fabric hair clips!

Christmas tags and paper garland...all sewn together and ready to hang on your Christmas tree, decorate your home, or adorn that pretty Christmas present!

And some pretty little mini collages such as these little lovebirds!

Although we sold a ton...there are a few fun things left and I just posted them to my Etsy store so be sure to stop by soon...before they are all gone!

One more little Holiday Mini collage!

A fun sewn fabric & paper pin...ready to adorn your favorite winter coat!

And one last Holiday collage made from a vintage Bingo board!

Loving the Season!

Well the Christmas tree is up and the stockings are hung and I am loving the season! So I thought I would start to share some of the pixs I have snapped of my home in all of it's Christmas glory.

I have started to collect cute little vintage deer! and boy do they cute on my mantle for the holiday season! I find them usually at estate sales and thrift stores, but you can also find a ton on Etsy...they really are quite cute and I am sure I will be able to find a way to display them all year long after Christmas has passed...they are just too cute not to!

In addition to decorating I have also been working on new fun collages and ornaments to sell! Here is my latest...I call it "Red is My Favorite Color" and I just listed it on my Etsy store so be sure to stop on by...
